Joe joined the Schaefer team in late 2020 and comes to us with nearly 30 years in construction experience and 25 years as a Project Manager. Joe has specialized in commercial tenant construction in the healthcare, auto, retail, public and institutional industries. Most recently Joe was a Project Manager for a large local construction firm responsible for healthcare clients. Prior positions include Senior Project Manager for two large commercial construction firms in the Washington DC and Baltimore metropolitan areas.
Joe’s projects have included both new construction projects, complete and partial demolition, as well as build outs and renovation. His projects vary in size and scope, ranging from a few hundred thousand dollars and up to $31 million. Joe has a strong understanding of renovation and remodels as these have been a main focus of his career. Joe’s wide range of experiences in different regions of the country among many different projects makes him an excellent Project Manager with the ability to work with any team. His ability to communicate effectively with customers, sub- contractors and construction workers, while focusing on quality while meeting schedule and budget constraints make him invaluable. Joe has detailed hands-on knowledge of individual trades and broad knowledge of all aspects of project management including project planning, budgeting, estimating, scheduling, administration and value engineering.
